Role Description: Non-Executive Director (NED), Head of Design & Brand Custodian - Maltix

Reporting To: The Board of Directors (collectively to Shareholders)

Overall Purpose: To provide independent strategic oversight and expert guidance on Maltix's overall design philosophy, user experience (UX), and brand identity. This NED is crucial for ensuring that Maltix's brand and client-facing design elements consistently reflect its values, drive engagement, and support global market expansion. The role involves guiding the development and adherence to comprehensive brand guidelines for both Maltix and its clients utilizing Maltix's platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Design & User Experience Oversight:

    • Provide expert counsel to the executive team on the overarching design strategy for all Maltix products, platforms, and specialty apps, ensuring a user-centric and intuitive experience.

    • Review and guide the principles for UI/UX design, advocating for best practices that enhance user engagement, accessibility, and overall client satisfaction across diverse global markets.

    • Advise on the adoption of design thinking methodologies within Maltix to foster continuous innovation in client-facing solutions.

  • Maltix Brand Stewardship & Evolution:

    • Act as a primary guardian of the Maltix corporate brand identity, values, and messaging, ensuring consistent application across all internal and external communications.

    • Oversee the development, maintenance, and rigorous enforcement of the "Maltix Brand Bible" (comprehensive brand guidelines) to preserve brand integrity as Maltix scales globally.

    • Provide strategic input on how the Maltix brand evolves in response to market shifts, competitive landscapes, and changes in target audience perception.

  • Client Branding & Customization Guidance:

    • Advise on strategies and technical capabilities related to how clients can effectively apply their own brand identities within Maltix's customizable apps and platforms.

    • Guide the development of tools and resources (e.g., brand guidelines templates, white-labeling options) to enable Maltix's clients to maintain their brand consistency while leveraging Maltix's technology.

    • Ensure that client-facing design principles support ease of customization and strong brand representation for licensees, particularly in the hospitality and spa industries.

  • Governance & Independent Challenge:

    • As an independent director, provide constructive challenge to the executive team's strategies and performance related to product design, user experience, and brand management.

    • Contribute to overall Board discussions on company strategy, risk management, and ethical conduct.

    • Ensure that design and brand strategies align with Maltix's financial objectives and long-term sustainability.

  • Stakeholder & Industry Engagement:

    • Represent Maltix at industry events, design forums, or branding conferences as appropriate, contributing to Maltix's reputation as a leader in digital experience.

    • Foster a culture of design excellence and brand consciousness throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive senior-level experience in design leadership (e.g., Head of Design, Chief Design Officer, VP UX), brand strategy, or marketing within digital products or technology-driven companies.

  • Proven track record of building and managing strong brand identities and designing exceptional user experiences.

  • Deep understanding of current and emerging trends in UI/UX, brand management, and digital marketing.

  • Experience with customizable or white-label digital products is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
